I was recently talking to a book blogger friend who said “Authors are like fairies: you have to clap if you believe.”

She’s right, you see, because we ARE like fairies. If our fans don’t believe in us…we fade away and die a slow, painful death because we aren’t selling our books.

So how do we inspired our fans to start clapping if they believe in us?

It is our job as authors in inspire our fans to get involved in our worlds. They aren’t likely to think of things that could help us, so we have to give them direction and inspiration.
