We talk a lot about building up your author blog and why that’s so important, but do you know how to get people to actually go visit your blog?
One of the best things you can do is to create Social Teasers that get fans’ interest enough to convince them to go check out your newest blog post:
But just saying “Hey, I have a new blog post!” isn’t enough. You have to give them hints about what you will be discussing…enough so so that they feel like they “have to” go see your blog or they will miss out.
Within the social teasers you are creating, you have to give them a test of what you are talking about. If it’s post with 5 facts about your character, give them the first fact and then tell them they have to go to the blog for 2-5. If you’re talking about the behind the scenes of how you wrote your book, tease the funny story you are about to tell and then guide them to your blog for the rest of it.
The key here is to tell them what they will be learning and then tell them where to go to learn it. Check out the video for more details! (See what I did there?)
